Android 8.55 Release Notes
MaaS360 makes the Android app version 8.55 available on the Play Store on 3 May 2024.
MaaS360 supports Chrome Custom Tabs on Android devices for web authentication
MaaS360 supports Chrome Custom Tabs (CCT) in the Android core app to enhance security for web authentication during enrollment, unified sign-in, and other processes. Integrating Chrome Custom Tabs with MaaS360 enhances both security and user experience by using Chrome's robust security features to ensure a seamless and protected browsing experience during authentication on Android devices. This integration mitigates risks, secures the authentication workflow, and protects sensitive user information. It also offers improved performance, passkey authentication support, and usability across Android devices.
Support to enable kiosk from device actions in the MaaS360 portal
Previously, the administrator must run a custom command to enable the kiosk on the device.
In this release, the new Enter Kiosk action is added under More on the Device Summary page for more visibility in the user interface. For more information, see Android device actions. The administrator either runs the custom command or uses the new Enter Kiosk action to enable the Kiosk on the device.
A new state, Allowlisted applications not installed, is introduced when the Kiosk is enabled, the policy is set for the first time, and none of the allowed applications are installed on the device. Also, a couple of error statutes have been added.

When both MDM and Persona policies were updated simultaneously, multiple certificate requests were made, referencing a certificate that was not present on the device. This would lead to two certificate requests during device enrollment. However, a race condition caused three requests instead. The issue has been resolved by adjusting the control mechanisms to prevent this race condition, ensuring that only the expected two requests are made under these conditions. |
