Android 8.45 Release Notes
MaaS360 makes the Android app version 8.45 available on the Play Store on February 20, 2024.
Fixed Secure Browser authentication prompt issue >>
MaaS360 fixes a previous issue where the Secure Browser app unnecessarily prompted users for a password even when certificate-based authentication with Mobile Enterprise Gateway (MEG) was configured. When the MEG authentication session times out, the Secure Browser app will now automatically reconnect with MEG in the background, eliminating the need for users to enter their password manually.
Fixed navigation issue in Secure Browser when images are opened in the new window >>
Previously, when Kiosk mode was enabled in full-screen mode for the Secure Browser app, users couldn't navigate back to the main page or previous tab after opening images in a new window. To improve navigation and user experience, MaaS360 removes the Open image in a new window long-press option in the Secure Browser when Kiosk mode is active in full-screen mode.
Customize the error message shown to users when devices do not meet OS requirements>>
In previous releases, MaaS360 introduced an advanced enrollment setting Enroll under Android for Enterprise only if the OS version is above, enabling administrators to set minimum OS version requirements for Android Enterprise enrollments. If devices fail to meet the criteria during enrollment, a generic error message is displayed and the enrollment is blocked.
In this release, MaaS360 adds a new branding element to tailor error messages displayed to users when their devices don't meet the minimum OS requirement for Android Enterprise enrollment. Administrators can use this feature to provide a custom message that allows users to understand the issue and potentially take corrective actions, such as updating their device OS or exploring alternative enrollment options.
Path to new branding element: Setup > Branding > Branding Elements > Android Enrollment Configuration > Error message if minimum allowed version criteria are not met.
User interface enhancements in Polaris library upgrade >>
MaaS360 upgraded the Polaris library in the MaaS360 Secure Editor app. This upgrade brings new menu options tailored for mobile devices and tablets in both view and edit modes. Some of the key improvements include the Ribbon menu and Quick Access for the supported file formats: Word, Slide, Sheet, Pdf, and Txt.
Fixed an issue wherein users could not update passwords directly from the Secure Mail app in Certificate+Password scenario >>
If the Secure Mail app was configured using the Certificate+Password setup (non-Azure), users could not update their passwords if they were expired or changed on the server. In this release, MaaS360 fixed the Secure Mail app to allow users to once again update their passwords directly within the app through MaaS360 Settings > Email > Accounts > Select account > Update password, or when prompted in the Inbox.
