Basic configuration: Active Directory mode

Follow the steps to configure basic Active Directory mode settings for user authentication.

Procedure

  1. Check the MaaS360 platform system requirements page to make sure that your computer meets the Active Directory minimum requirements.
  2. In the User Authentication page, configure your AD setup and synchronize all users using the following corporate directory options.
    • Active Directory
    • OpenLDAP
    • Novell eDirectory
    • Domino LDAP
    • Oracle LDAP
  3. Provide the service account details and click Next to validate your credentials. If a failure message is displayed, check for the directory connectivity form the Cloud Extender server and the account credentials.
    Option Description
    Username The service account username must be a local administrator on the Cloud Extender® server.
    Password The service account password must not expire.

    If your corporate policy requires you to change the service account password on a periodic basis, make sure that you update the password from the Cloud Extender Configuration Tool.

    Domain The domain of the service account.
    Enable Secure Authentication Mode Enable this option if your environment is configured for secure authentication.
  4. Click Test to determine whether domains and users can be authenticated with your service account. If a failure message is displayed, check the user's account credentials and domain entered.
  5. Click Save to complete the setup and return to the Cloud Extender Summary page.
