Setting up a shared database for High Availability (HA)

Connect gateways to a shared database in a High Availability (HA) cluster.

Procedure

  1. From the Enterprise Gateway section of the Cloud Extender® Configuration Tool, select the configuration mode and select High Availability- setup a new cluster.
  2. Enter the Gateway Name and select Relay.
  3. Enter a value, click Test to make sure that the validation is successful.
  4. Click Next to open the Database tab.
  5. In the Database tab, select the Database Type and the database connection string is automatically populated on the gateway.
  6. Click Compose Database Connection String and enter the Database Host, Database Port, and Database Name.
  7. Click OK and verify that the test is successful.
  8. Provide the local credentials to log in to the local server.
Note: For Microsoft SQL Server in Active Directory authentication mode only (not available in LDAP), select the Use Domain Account checkbox to require the gateway domain account to access the database.
  9. Click Test Database Connection to test the connection to the database by using the account credentials.
This test confirms that all settings are configured correctly. The Cloud Extender Configuration Tool automatically rechecks the database for connectivity and saves the gateway configuration.
  10. Click Next to open the Authentication tab and configure the session details.
  11. Click Next and go to the Security Properties tab.
  12. Set the Untrust Certificate to Reject All or Accept All and click Next.
  13. Test the connection in the Finish tab and verify that the Enterprise Gateway and VPN Gateway connections are successful.
