Configuring Additional settings in Android Kiosk mode

Use custom settings to control features and settings on an Android device in Kiosk mode.

Follow the steps to configure Kiosk additional settings in IBM® MaaS360®.
  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, go to Security > Policies.
  2. Select an Android Enterprise policy.
  3. Go to Android Enterprise Settings > COSU (Kiosk mode).
  4. Select the Enabled Kiosk Mode
  5. Expand the Kiosk Additional Settings section, and then enter settings in the form of key-value pairs under Kiosk Additional attributes field.

MaaS360 supports the following settings for Android Kiosk mode.

By default, it is set as true.

It displays the Update Device Data option in Kiosk Launcher, which allows users to take control and trigger connecting manually.

This policy is supported from MaaS360 Kiosk Launcher 8.50 and later.

By default, it is set as true.

It pauses the countdown timer for single app COSU maintenance mode when navigating to a device setting or custom shortcut.

This policy is supported from MaaS360 Kiosk Launcher 8.60 and later.

kioskCustomStatusBar.showUserName true, false By default, it is set as true.

It displays the username for the user logged in to the device.

It displays the email id of the user in the status bar of the device.

It displays the battery icon on the status bar.
