Policies defined metrics

The Policies defined metrics provide statistics on MDM policies (iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, or WorkPlace Persona) that are defined in the IBM® MaaS360® Portal for devices that are managed by an organization. Most organizations use more than one policy that is based on different devices and user group requirements.

Viewing a generated report

To view a Policies defined report, choose one of the following options:

  • One policy set
  • Two policy sets
  • Three policy sets
  • Greater than three policy sets

In the following example, the Policies defined metrics provide example statistics for all industry and all deployment sizes:

  • For iOS, the following statistics apply:
    • 60% of the organizations defined one iOS MDM policy and applied that policy to at least one iOS device.
    • 17% of the organizations defined two iOS MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one iOS device.
    • 9% of the organizations defined three iOS MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one iOS device.
    • 14% of the organizations defined more than three iOS MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one iOS device.
  • For Android, the following statistics apply:
    • 70% of the organizations defined one Android MDM policy and applied that policy to at least one Android device.
    • 17% of the organizations defined two Android MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one Android device.
    • 6% of the organizations defined three Android MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one Android device.
    • 7% of the organizations defined more than three Android MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one Android device.
  • For WorkPlace Persona, the following statistics apply:
    • 70% of the organizations defined one WorkPlace Persona policy and applied that policy to at least one device.
    • 17% of the organizations defined two WorkPlace Persona policies and applied those policies to at least one device.
    • 5% of the organizations defined three WorkPlace Persona policies and applied those policies to at least one device.
    • 8% of the organizations defined more than three WorkPlace Persona policies and applied those policies to at least one device.
  • For macOS MDM, the following statistics apply:
    • 96% of the organizations defined one macOS MDM policy and applied that policy to at least one macOS device.
    • 4% of the organizations defined either two, three, or more than three macOS MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one macOS device.
  • For Windows, the following statistics apply:
    • 85% of the organizations defined one Windows MDM policy and applied that policy to at least one Windows device.
    • 9% of the organizations defined two Windows MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one Windows device.
    • 6% of the organizations defined either two, three, or more than three Windows MDM policies and applied those policies to at least one Windows device.
