Device security settings metrics
The Device security settings metrics provide statistics that define which device security settings are enabled in the MaaS360® policies for devices that are managed by an organization.
The following security settings are provided in the Device security
settings generated report:
- Data restrictions on device
- Device Encryption
- Passcode on Device
- Restrict File Import
Viewing a generated report
The Device security settings generated report shows the percentage of secure devices in the MaaS360 Community and in the My Devices community. This percentage is based on the number of devices that use policies that are enabled with the device security settings.
To view a Device security settings report, choose one of the following
communities:
- MaaS360® Community
- My Devices community
Viewing an example of the metrics in a generated report
In the following example, the Device security settings metrics provide
statistics on an organization in the Services industry that includes both a small and a large
deployment of devices:
In the MaaS360 Community, the following statistics apply:
- All the devices enforced the Data restrictions on device security setting and are secure devices.
- Only 10% of the devices enforced the Device Encryption security setting that encrypts data on devices.
- Only 93% of the devices enforced the Passcode on Device security setting that requires a passcode to access the device.
- Only 30% of the devices enforced the Restrict File Import security setting that does not allow files to be imported on the device.
In the My Devices community, the following statistics apply:
- All the devices enforced the Data restrictions on device security setting and are secure devices.
- None of the devices enforced the Device Encryption security setting that enforces encryption on devices.
- None of the devices enforced the Passcode on Device security setting that requires a passcode to access the device.
- None of the devices enforced the Restrict File Import security setting that does not allow files to be imported on the device.
The statistics that are provided in the example illustrate how to work with metrics across various industries and with different deployment sizes. Use this data as a guide to improving the security and efficiency of your mobile environment.
