Deploying apps and bundles to the Featured section in the App Catalog

MaaS360® allows you to add popular apps and app bundles to the Featured pane. The apps that are marked as Featured are highlighted at the top of the end-user App Catalog.

About this task

The apps in the Featured section are organized by default in the following sections:
Section Description
Starter Kit The apps that users receive on device enrollment.
Highest Rated Apps The apps in the App Catalog that received the highest rating.
Latest Apps The apps that are recently deployed to the App Catalog.
Most Downloaded The apps that are downloaded the most from the App Catalog.
Note: You must enable the Advanced Mode setting. For more information, see Configuring app settings in the IBM MaaS360 Portal.

Follow these steps to add Featured apps:

Procedure

  1. From the IBM® MaaS360 Portal Home page, select Apps > Catalog.
  2. Click Featured in the top-right corner and then click Add Featured.
    The Add as Featured window is displayed.
  3. Provide the following details:
    Option Description
    Select App or Bundle The apps and app bundles that you want to add to the Featured section.
    Featured Subtext The text that is displayed over the Featured banners.
    Featured Image The image that is used as a Featured banner. The Featured banners are displayed as auto-sliding carousels at the top of the App Catalog to provide quick access to Featured apps.
    Show App/Bundle Name and Featured Description The app or app bundle name and description that is displayed over the Featured banner.
    Featured Banner Style The Featured banner style.
    Featured Font Color The color of the text that is displayed on the Featured banner.
  4. Click Confirm.
    The app is added to the Featured section when the app is deployed to the end-user App Catalog.
