Preconfiguration settings for MaaS360 server

Information about settings that you must configure first on the MaaS360® server.

About this task

Before you connect the MaaS360 server to the Pradeo server, you must configure the following settings in the IBM® MaaS360 Portal:
  • Custom attribute
  • Group of devices
  • Compliance rules

Procedure

  1. From the IBM MaaS360 Portal Home page, select Devices > Device Attributes.
  2. Click Manage Custom Attributes.
    The Manage Custom Attributes window is displayed.
  3. Click Add Custom Attribute.
    The Add Custom Attribute window is displayed.

    1. Enter a name for the attribute.
      For example, PradeoRiskManagement.
    2. Choose Boolean as the Attribute Type.
    3. Click Add.
  4. Select Devices > Groups.
  5. Click Add Device Group.
    The Advanced Search window is displayed.
    1. In the Search for field, choose any option.
    2. In the With Device Type field, choose any device type.
    3. In the Last Reported field, choose any setting.
    4. In the Search Criteria field, choose the following conditions:

    5. Click Search.
      MaaS360 searches for all devices that match the criteria that you selected. Even though the search results do not appear on the screen until the MaaS360 server is connected to the Pradeo server, the search results are saved to the MaaS360 server and contain all the devices that are not compliant.
    6. Click Create a New Device Group to save the search results with a new group name.

  6. Select Security > Compliance Rules.
  7. Click Add Rule Set.
    The Add Rule Set window is displayed.
    1. Enter a name for the rule set.
    2. Choose the new device group that you created in step 5 from the Copy From field.
    3. Select the rule, and then click Edit.
    4. Click the Group Based Rules tab, and define the actions that trigger when a device is added to the BlocklistedApps group, such as send alerts, change the MDM policy, delete the configuration policies, or remove access to email messages.
