Enrolling the Pradeo Security agent on Android devices

Information about enrolling the Pradeo Security agent on Android devices.

The Pradeo Security for Android devices includes the following applications:
  • Pradeo Security application: The application that manages the global Pradeo Security functions on the Android OS, and the connection to the Pradeo Security server that contains the latest security policy.
  • Pradeo Security agent: You must enroll the Pradeo Security agent from the Google Play Store on the Pradeo Security platform. After you install the agent, start the Pradeo Security enrollment process:

    1. Enter the following information on the Pradeo Security configuration screen:
      Option Description
      Server URL The IP address or domain name of the Pradeo Security server. Note: If you select the Pradeo cloud server, that IP address is automatically displayed on the screen.
      Enrollment password The password that links the Android device with a client.
      Authentication method Use one of the following authentication methods:
      • Simple authentication - Provide the following options:
        • Required: Last name - The last name of the administrator or the name of the device.
        • Optional: First name, Function, Email, Telephone number
      • LDAP authentication - Provide the following required LDAP credentials:
        • LDAP: The LDAP administrator login.
        • Password: The LDAP administrator account password.
        Note: If you want to link the Android device with an LDAP user (the LDAP server must be configured on the interface), select the LDAP authentication method and enter your LDAP credentials.
    2. Click Validate. The device attempts to enroll on the Pradeo Security server. When the enrollment request is sent and successfully processed, a confirmation message is displayed.

      If the device is pre-approved by the administrator, the enrollment process does not require further action from the administrator to complete the enrollment process.

      When the enrollment process is complete, a confirmation message is displayed in the Notifications bar. The Pradeo Security agent downloads and applies the security policy for the device group, and sends a list of all the apps that are installed on the devices to the server. Note: To use MDM functions on the device, the Device Administrator option must be activated on the device. If this option is not activated on the device, that user is invited to select this option to receive a better level of protection.
