Managing devices in the MaaS360 console and the Lookout MES console

The MaaS360® console and the Lookout MES console display the state of a device, including whether the Lookout app is activated or the device is managed by MaaS360.

Activating a device

When the Lookout app is activated, the Secured device state is displayed in both the MaaS360 console and the Lookout MES console as a device tag. You can also view devices that are managed by MaaS360 where MaaS360 is displayed in the MDM column of the device list in the Lookout MES console.

Deactivating a device

If you deactivate a device in the Lookout MES console, the deactivation is permanent. You cannot reactivate the device with an app push activation unless the app is deleted from the Lookout MES console first. You must first deactivate and delete the device from the Lookout MES console, and then repush the iOS app to the device.

A device that is deactivated in MaaS360 is still protected by Lookout on a stand-alone basis. Any threats that are detected by Lookout MES are transmitted to MaaS360, but because the device is no longer activated, any events or changes from Lookout are disregarded by MaaS360 for that device.
