Distributing Android Enterprise apps for closed testing
IBM® MaaS360® supports the distribution of pre-release versions (tracks) of public and private channel Android Enterprise apps for internal testing purposes. The closed tracks provide a way to receive early feedback from users and allow you to fix issues before the apps are released to production.
Before you begin
- The production version of the app must be published on Google Play.
- Administrators must allow closed tracks for apps that they want to test. For more information, see Google Developers site for distributing apps.
About this task
An app can consist of multiple distribution tracks and each track is distributed to different targets.
The distribution tracks that are available for an app are displayed in the Available Tracks field in the App Summary page.
Follow the steps to select a track for distribution for an Android Enterprise app.
Procedure
- From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, select and click Distribute link for an app.
- On the Distribute App window, select any track from the available tracks list and distribution target.
- Alternatively you can click an app to open Apps Summary Page and on the upper right click Distribute.
