Managing device attributes in the IBM MaaS360 Portal
A device attribute is a set of data that an administrator can customize and then associate with a specific device.
You can also use device-specific custom attributes to immediately trigger a compliance action on a device. This feature enables seamless integration with threat management platform partners (such as Lookout). These platforms identify the risk level of devices based on malware, apps, and behaviors, and then categorize the risks (low, medium, high) associated with these platforms by using MaaS360® web services to set attributes in MaaS360.
The defined custom attributes are listed in the Custom Attributes section in the Device Summary page. Administrator can also edit and save these defined attributes from the Device Summary page.
- The custom device attribute name and value do not support special characters such as period (.), less than (<), greater than (>), backslash (\), and quotes(",'). The CSV file used to bulk upload custom device attributes must not include special characters.
- The value of the custom device attribute of type Number does not support more than 10 digits.
