Battery Health Dashboard
The Battery Health Dashboard provides IT administrators with the real-time insight of the overall health and performances of managed device batteries. The dashboard enables the administrators to efficiently monitor and manage the devices, thus optimizing the device lifecycle management, and reducing the potential disruptions to business continuity. The administrators can make timely, informed decisions, and maintenance strategies for the devices with unreliable batteries.
Enabling the Battery Health Dashboard
From the IBM®
MaaS360® Portal, the administrators can go to
and select Enable to display the
Battery Health Dashboard on the home page. Click Save
to save the settings.
Important: After you enable, log out of the IBM
MaaS360 Portal and log in again
to view the Battery Health Dashboard link in the
Devices tab.
Accessing the Battery Health Dashboard from IBM MaaS360 Portal
There are two ways to access and view the Battery Health Dashboard.
- From the IBM
MaaS360 Portal home page, click
the Unreliable batteries widget to open the dashboard. The filter in the
widget enables the admin to filter the devices with unreliable batteries based on the device OS such
as
Android
,iOS
, orAll platforms
.Note: The Unreliable batteries widget appears only in the new home page and it is not available in the classic home page. Click Explore the new homepage to view the widget. - From the IBM MaaS360 Portal home page, select Devices and click Battery Health Dashboard to open the dashboard.
Viewing the Battery Health Dashboard details
After you access the Battery Health Dashboard from the home page, the
battery health report is displayed in a tabular format. The Battery health
overview section in the dashboard displays the total number of active devices. The
battery health statuses are displayed and the values are Good,
Ineffective, Not genuine, and
Unknown.
Note: The Ineffective state includes batteries
in
Cold
, Dead
, Overvoltage
,
Overheat
, and Service recommended
states.The administrator can toggle between the two content feature tabs, All devices, and Devices with unreliable batteries that are displayed under the Battery health overview section.
Battery Health Dashboard parameters and actions
The battery parameters along with device information are displayed as follows.
- Device Name
- Username
- Device ID
- Battery health displays the present battery status.
- Health status changed displays the date and time since which the battery health status has changed.
- Manufacturer is the device manufacturer.
- Platform displays
Android
andiOS
. - Battery temperature displays the current temperature of the device battery.
- Technology of the battery.
- Manufactured date is the battery manufacture date.
- Charge cycle count is the number of times a battery can be fully charged and discharged.
- Last reported is the latest time when the latest battery parameters were reported to the console from the device.
- Managed status of the device.
- Ownership of the device.
- Charging status displays the current charging status of the device.
- Battery level displays the current battery level of the device.
- Model of the device.
- OS version displays the current OS version of that device.
- Power saver mode displays whether the mode is turned on or off in the device.
- Battery serial number
- IMEI of the device.
- Time remaining to full is the time that is required for the battery to get fully charged.
- Battery scale displays the maximum battery level and the value is
100
. - Part number of the battery.
- The administrator can select multiple devices and click Send mail or the mail icon to send email notifications of the battery status to the users for all the selected devices.
- Use the Search bar to search by using the Device name, username, or Device ID based on the dashboard.
- Use the Manage columns icon to customize the columns to be displayed on the report. Select, or remove any columns, or reorder the list, and click Submit to view the customized report.
- Refresh the report data by using the refresh icon.
- Click the Username to view the user details of the device.
- Click the Device Name to view the detailed view of the device.
Notes:
- The columns Battery temperature, Technology, Manufactured date, Charge cycle count, Charging status, Battery level, Power saver mode, Battery serial number, Time remaining to full, Battery scale, Part number are available for Android devices only.
- The columns Manufactured date, Part number, and Battery serial number are available on Zebra devices only.
- The sorting in the content feature tabs is enabled on all the columns.

Filtering the Battery Health Dashboard
The administrator can filter the entries in the dashboard by using the filter icon.
- Click the filter icon.
- In the Platform section, select the iOS or Android checkbox.
- Select a value in the Battery health drop-down as given in the table.
- Select a value in the Manufacturer drop-down.
- Click Apply.
Exporting the Battery status summary report
The administrator can send the Battery status summary report in an email
by using the Export option to any admin email address.
- Click Export.
- In the Battery status summary report, enter a File name.
- In the Select export format section, select the
CSV
orExcel
checkbox. - In the Recipient's mail ID section, enter the admin email address, or click the drop-down and select one or more values from the drop-down.
- Click Send mail.
The admin can access and download the CSV or excel files through their email.
