ActiveSync settings

Manage devices that use the ActiveSync account to configure mailboxes and synchronize data on the native Windows email app.

Note: The Windows Mail app reaches End of Support (EOS) as of version 16005.14326.22342.0. Microsoft officially discontinues the support and functions for the app from 31 December 2024. When users access the app, it automatically upgrades to Microsoft Outlook. However, Microsoft Outlook does not support Exchange ActiveSync.

Account name for the ActiveSync Server Represents the account name. The user can see the mailbox with this name.

Domain name Determines user domain. Leave this field blank to use the enrollment information to populate the user's domain.

Account username Represents the username of the user. Leave this field blank to use the enrollment information to populate the user's username. If the account username is the same as the email address (such as Office 365 or HCL Traveler), use %email% as the variable.

Email address Represents the user email address. Leave this field blank to use the enrollment information to populate email address of the user.

Identity certificate Select the identity certificate to use for sync account configuration. You can add certificates from Security > Policies > Advanced Settings > Certificates.
Note: Use the Company Hub 1.62 and later certificate for Windows Phones.

SMIME signing certificate Select the S/MIME signing certificate to use for validating mail accounts to ensure that data is received only from those accounts with signed certificates. You can add certificates from Security > Policies > Advanced Settings > Certificates.

SMIME encryption certificate Select the S/MIME encryption certificate to use for decrypting mails that are sent to the account. You can add certificates from Security > Policies > Advanced Settings > Certificates.

Sync emails You can synchronize emails on the device.

Sync frequency Select the frequency at which the server and device synchronize data. Supported values are 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, as and when the synchronization is needed, or manually start the synchronization on the device.

Download emails from Select the time frame from when you want to download emails from the server to the device during the synchronization action.
