URL filter settings for Secure Browser (WorkPlace Persona policy)

Use the Browser URL Filtering settings to configure the URLs that a user can access from Secure Browser on a device.

The following table describes the settings that you can configure to filter URLs in Secure Browser:

Configure Web URL restrictions Select URL categories to block or track: The URL categories that are blocked by the browser.
Note: A user must be assigned to the device for tracking websites.

Configure allowed URLs Specify URL or domain name exceptions: The websites that the user can access from the browser. iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows 10+
Configure blocklisted URLs Specify URL or domain name to be blocklisted: The websites that the user cannot access from the browser. iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows 10+
Configure notifications Notification type on browser: The type of notification (text message, HTML message, URL redirect) that the user receives when they try to access a website that is blocked on the browser.
  • Text notification: The message that the user receives on the device when they try to access a website that is blocked on the browser. The text message supports basic HTML formatting with an allowed maximum of 255 characters.
  • HTML notification: The custom HTML content that is displayed in the browser when the user tries to access a website that is blocked on the browser.

Send alerts to administrators
  • Occurrences threshold for alert: The number of times that a website is blocked before an alert is sent to administrators for policy violation. Use the value 1 to immediately notify administrators.
  • Time range for counting occurrences: The range of time that events occurred that generated the alert. Default value: 4 hours
  • Email address for notifications delivery: The email addresses of the administrators who receive the alert about a policy violation.

Skip URL category lookup when device is connected to a captive network If this setting is enabled, URL filtering settings that are configured in this policy are not enforced by the device.
  • Times URL filtering skipped: Default value: 3
  • Time range for counting occurrences: Default value: 24 hours
