Configuring license settings as a partner managing as a child partner

MaaS360 business partners can manage their child partners to configure overage for second-level child partners and customer accounts that are under the hierarchy of the child partner using the license settings in the MaaS360 Portal.

Follow these steps to configure license settings:

  1. Log in to the IBM® MaaS360® Portal as a partner managing as a child partner.
  2. From the MaaS360 Portal Home page, select Setup > Settings > License Settings.
  3. Review and configure the following sections in the Basic settings as required:

    Overage settings

Overage allows customers and partners in their hierarchy to consume over and above the purchased license quantity.

    • The following Overage settings are displayed only if overage is enabled for the child partner at the parent partner level.

      Disable overage management

      • If the Disable overage management setting is selected, overage is disabled for this child partner account only. If the child partner logs in to the MaaS360 account, overage settings are disabled.
Note: Selecting this option automatically disables the Disable overage for your hierarchy option.
      • If the Disable overage management setting is not selected, overage is enabled for this child partner account. If the child partner logs in to the MaaS360 account, overage settings are enabled and that child partner can configure overage for their second-level child partners and customers in their hierarchy.

      Disable overage for your hierarchy

      • If he Disable overage for your hierarchy setting is selected, overage is disabled for all the second-level child partners and customers in the hierarchy of the child partner. The second-level child partners cannot configure overage for the child partners and customers in their hierarchy, and customers cannot exceed the purchased license quantity.
      • If the Disable overage for your hierarchy setting is not selected, overage is enabled for all the second-level child partners and customers in the hierarchy of the child partner. The second-level child partners can configure overage for child partners and customers in their hierarchy, and administrators can configure overage at a granular level to enable or disable overage for individual license suites that they have purchased.
    • If overage is disabled for a child partner at the parent partner level, the following message is displayed:
Overage settings are disabled for a child partner
  4. Click Save to apply the settings.
