Adding Secondary Enterprise apps to devices

Follow these steps to add secondary versions of a Primary Enterprise app from the App Catalog to users of active devices.

Adding Secondary Enterprise apps to Android, iOS, or Windows devices

You can maintain secondary versions of apps in the App Catalog by managing those apps as additional versions of a given Primary Enterprise app.

  1. From the App Catalog, select a Primary Enterprise app that needs to be upgraded, and then click View.
  2. Select More > Upgrade App. The Upgrade App window is displayed.

  3. From the App Details tab, upload the .ipa file or provide the URL for the secondary version of the app package.
  4. Select the Manage as Additional Version check box. If you enable this setting, both versions of the app (primary and the new secondary version) are available in the App Catalog. The Secondary Enterprise app is managed in the App Catalog as an additional version of the app.
  5. Configure settings in the Policies and Distribution tab, the Configuration tab, and the Wrapping and Signing tab, and then click Upload. The secondary app versions are listed in the App Catalog under the primary app version. A plus icon is displayed in the App Catalog next to any primary apps that include secondary app versions.

  6. Click the plus icon to view more versions of the app. You can add up to a maximum of 25 secondary app versions for any Primary Enterprise app.

Adding Secondary Enterprise apps to macOS devices

  1. From the MaaS360 Packager, go to Packages, select the Secondary Enterprise app from the app list, and then click Update.

  2. Select the file type, and then click Next.

  3. Configure settings in the Basic tab.
  4. From the Settings tab, select Add as New Version. If you enable this option, both versions of the app (primary and the new secondary version) are available in the App Catalog. The Secondary Enterprise app is managed in the App Catalog as an additional version of the app.
  5. Configure settings in the Details tab and the Scripts tab, and then click Finish. The Secondary Enterprise apps that are uploaded from the MaaS360 Packager are displayed in the App Catalog.
