Advanced branding options for email sender configuration

Use the email sender configuration in advanced branding to create custom configurations for the mail sender. Use the mail sender configuration to brand the sender's mail address and display name for your organization for secure mail communication from MaaS360.

The email sender configuration in advanced branding ensures that the emails that are sent from MaaS360 meet the highest security standards. The email sender configuration in advanced branding is compliant with the following authentication methods.

  • Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email authentication method that lists IP addresses or servers that are authorized to send emails on behalf of domains.
  • DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication method that uses DKIM signatures to verify the authenticity of email messages. A DKIM signature is a digital signature that uses cryptography to confirm that an email message originates from an authorized email server and to check whether the message was not tampered during transit. DKIM signatures enable email providers to authenticate on behalf of domain owners and protect email senders and recipients from spam, spoofing, and phishing attacks.
  • Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) is an email authentication policy and a reporting protocol that builds on SPF and DKIM email authentication methods. DMARC allows domain owners to define a DMARC policy for their domain with instructions about the appropriate response to send when it receives an email that fails SPF or DKIM authentication.

After publishing the DNS record to the DNS provider of the domain, any receiving email server can authenticate an incoming email based on the instructions that are provided by the domain owner in the DNS record. If the email passes the authentication, it is delivered and can be trusted. If the email fails the authentication, it might be delivered, quarantined, or rejected based on the instructions that are provided in the DNS record.

DMARC is designed to validate the authenticity of an email source and provide domain owners the ability to protect their domain from unauthorized use, suspicious email, phishing email, email scams, and other cyberthreats.

In advanced branding, you can use one the following mail sender configurations for secure mail communication from MaaS360.
