Creating access roles to distribute OS patches and app updates

Follow these steps to create access roles to distribute OS patches or app updates to devices.

1. From the MaaS360® Portal Home page, select Setup > Roles.
   The Manage Role page is displayed.
2. Click Add Role.
3. In the Select Mode of Creation section, provide basic information, and then complete one of the following:
   • Click Select from Existing to select a custom or default role to auto-populate access rights from the selected roles.
     Note: Users can modify auto-populated access rights.
   • Click Create new to manually select access rights.
4. Click Next.
   The Grant Access Rights page is displayed.
5. Select from the following access rights that are available for patch distribution:
   • Distribute patches for a device: View and distribute patches from an individual device. You cannot view or distribute OS patches and app updates from the Security page.
   • View patches for a device: View patches only from an individual device. You cannot view OS patches and app updates from the Security page.
   • Distribute Patches: View and distribute OS patches and app updates from the Security page. You cannot view or distribute patches from an individual device.
   • View Patches: View OS patches and app updates only from the Security page. You cannot view patches from an individual device.
6. Click Save.
