You need to rewind the tape, and find the correct position on the tape to start copying from.

Use the mt tool to manipulate the tape.

Procedure

  1. Rewind the tape.
    For example:
    # mt -f /dev/ntibm0 rewind
  2. Skip the first file on the tape (this is the dump tool itself).

    For example:

    # mt -f /dev/ntibm0 fsf
