Using an ECKD DASD partition for list-directed dump

List-directed dumps are supported for LPARs and z/VM starting with the IBM®z16®. An ECKD DASD must be attached and it must be possible to IPL from the DASD. To use a DASD partition as dump device for list-directed dump, you need to install the stand-alone dump tool, perform the dump process, and copy the dump to a file in a Linux® file system.
