WebSphere Studio Workload Simulator

The Trade workload was driven by the WebSphere® Studio Workload Simulator and the WebSphere Studio Workload Simulator script provided with the Trade distribution.

One of the parameters that is specifiable for WebSphere Studio Workload simulator is the number of clients that will be executing the script. The WebSphere Studio Workload Simulator configuration that was used to execute all the measurements in this study specified 300 worker threads. Simulated clients are executed by worker threads. Increasing the number of clients increases the transaction rate or load on the Trade application executing on the WebSphere Application Server. Both Command caching and DistributedMap caching were used.
