Replacing all kernel parameters in a boot configuration

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 LPAR mode z/VM guest

Kernel parameters that you specify when booting can completely replace the kernel parameters in your boot configuration.

To replace all kernel parameters in your boot configuration, specify the new parameter string with a leading equal sign (=).

Note: This feature is intended for expert users who want to test a set of parameters. By replacing all parameters, you might inadvertently omit parameters that the boot configuration requires. Furthermore, you might omit parameters other than kernel parameters that Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 8.6 includes in the parameter string for use by the init process.

Read /proc/cmdline to find out with which parameters a running Linux instance was started .
