Database indexing

The database indexing that was performed for the IBM® Content Navigator and IBM FileNet® P8 is described here.

IBM Content Navigator

IBM Content Navigator (ICN) stores configuration and preferences data in a database. Enabling ICN features can create add-on database tables and columns that are not automatically indexed. After creating indexes for those, ICN queries for properties run faster and return results faster than queries on tables or columns that are not indexed.

For information about tuning Content Navigator database indexer, proceed to this URL at the IBM Knowledge Center:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/content-navigator/2.0.3
Then select: Installing IBM Content Navigator and proceed to the Web page that describes how to create database indexes to improve performance.

IBM FileNet P8

FNP8 CPE stores configuration and preferences data in a global configuration database (GCD).

Documents, workflows and other objects data are stored in the Object Store database.

Indexing FNP8 databases can improve the performance. Consider creating database indexes when the performance for transactions is not as desired. Database indexes can greatly improve the performance for transactions that run against FNP8 databases.

For information about indexing FileNet P8 databases, proceed to this URL at the IBM Knowledge Center:

Then select: Performance Tuning and proceed to the Web page that describes how to index IBM FileNet P8 databases.
