Hardware and software configuration

This section describes the software and hardware configurations for the system under test (SUT).

The SUT represents an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system consisting of IBM® FileNet® P8 core components. The system is set up as a three tier architecture including a

  • FileNet P8 Content and Process Engine server
  • DB2® database server
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) security server
  • IBM System x client machine as ECM workload driver

The system was implemented using a single LPAR running a z/VM® version 6.2 hypervisor on a System z® Enterprise 196 (IBM z196). The storage subsystem was a IBM DS8800 connected via FICON® Express8.
