Prerequisites

To install the IBM® Serviceable Event Provider, the following prerequisites are mandatory:

• Install the following SNMP packages:
  • net-snmp-5.7.2-13.pkvm2_1.1.ppc64
  • net-snmp-libs-5.7.2-13.pkvm2_1.1.ppc64
  • net-snmp-utils-5.7.2-13.pkvm2_1.1.ppc64
    Note: If any of these SNMP packages are not installed, the IBM Serviceable Event Provider will fail to install.
• As part of Serviceable Event Provider functionality, the ports that are used to receive the traps on registered listeners from IBM PowerKVM system have to be open.
