Using OpenSSL 1.1.1 with the IBMCA engine

The IBMCA engine is only supported by OpenSSL versions earlier than 1.1.1.

Do not use the IBMCA engine with OpenSSL 3.0 or later versions. Instead, use the IBMCA provider. Though engines are in general still supported with OpenSSL 3.0 or later, they are deprecated. There may exist user or system applications that might not work with OpenSSL versions starting with 3.0 and engines. In general, applications using the OpenSSL 3.0 or later API will probably not work with engines.
