Network Express for Linux
Use the Network Express multi-purpose network adapter for networking as of IBM® z17 ™ and IBM LinuxONE 5.
Network Express features
The Network Express adapter has two physical ports with one physical channel ID (PCHID) per port, and hence two PCHIDs per adapter.
The hardware feature supports 10 GB/s and 25 GB/s.
You can configure the Network Express adapter in the IOCDS or DPM
in either of two modes:
- Hybrid mode (function type NETH). Hybrid mode also supports CCW devices of type OSH, but these are not supported on Linux.
- Direct mode (function type NETD).
