ECM for Linux on z Systems - A case study with WAS Cluster and Spectrum Scale (Webcast)

Abstract

This presentation will give an overview of an end-to-end scale-out case study for multiple Enterprise Content Management (ECM) nodes in a WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Cluster. Spectrum Scale was used as the underlying parallel filesystem to share the FileNet File Storage Area among the ECM nodes. The presentation covers setup aspects as well as performance results for the system under test.

IBM Enterprise Content Management for Linux on z Systems - Scale-Out Case Study

Part 1: Single ECM Node with XFS and IBM Spectrum Scale 4.2

Abstract

The first part focuses on a single ECM node with an XFS filesystem or IBM Spectrum Scale as FileNet File Storage Area. The setup, tuning and performance analysis of the ECM components and IBM Spectrum Scale is described for the system under test.

Part 2: Multiple ECM Nodes with IBM WebSphere Application Server Cluster and IBM Spectrum Scale 4.2

Abstract

The second part focuses on the scale-out to multiple ECM nodes in a WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Cluster, and the effectiveness of IBM Spectrum Scale as a distributed parallel filesystem. In addition, the Spectrum Scale cluster configurations Shared Disk (SD) and Network Shared Disk (NSD) are tested.

Linux on System z and IBM FileNet P8 5.1 Setup, Performance, and Scalability

Abstract

IBM FileNet P8 provides a comprehensive, enterprise-class content lifecycle, document management, and workflow platform for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Business Process Management (BPM).

This white paper presents the performance and scalability characteristics of the IBM FileNet P8 5.1 Content Engine (CE) and Process Engine (PE) in a virtualized environment running as Linux guests on z/VM on IBM z Systems.
