Using the HMC for Linux on z/VM

You can use the HMC Integrated ASCII Console applet to access terminal devices on Linux® instances that run as z/VM® guests.

While the ASCII system console is attached to the z/VM guest virtual machine where the Linux instance runs, you can access the ttyS1 terminal device from the HMC Integrated ASCII Console applet (see Figure 1).

Use the CP ATTACH SYSASCII command to attach the ASCII system console to your z/VM guest virtual machine.
