Initial RAM disk image

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 LPAR mode z/VM guest KVM guest

An initial RAM disk holds files, programs, or modules that are not included in the kernel image but are required for booting.

Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 8.6 provides a RAM disk in /boot and named initramfs-<kernel version>.s390x.img. When a RAM disk is installed or modified, you must call zipl to update the boot record.
