How to control and report IBM licenses
Using License Metric Tool reports allows you to monitor your software license utilization and maintain license compliance. You can prepare the audit snapshot that is a valid document for audit purposes.
Software classification
To ensure license compliance, read through your licensing documents and make sure that the terms are reflected in the License Metric Tool reports. Define your entitlements, assign your software components to products, or bundles, and confirm your assignments. For more information, see: Managing software inventory and metric utilization.
Creating an audit report
After you complete classifying your software, create the audit snapshot each quarter and store it for at least two years. For more information about the audit snapshot and its contents, see: Creating snapshots of license metric utilization for auditing purposes.

Integration
Managing large amounts of information by using the application user interface can be time-consuming. You can use the REST APIs as an alternative to the graphical user interface to reduce the time that is needed to manage your software inventory and the content of your software catalog. For more information, see: Integrating with REST API.
