Migrating all License Metric Tool server components to a different computer (BigFix scenario)

To migrate all License Metric Tool server components, start by installing the new License Metric Tool and BigFix® servers on the desired computer. Then, restore the old License Metric Tool database under the new License Metric Tool server. Enable the computer reconciliation to ensure that computers from the old BigFix server are correctly mapped in the new License Metric Tool. Then, resubscribe endpoints from the old BigFix server to the new one. After you verify that the computers were successfully resubscribed and mapped, disable the computer reconciliation mode.

Since application update 9.2.33 computer reconciliation mode is enabled for all new installations of License Metric Tool.

1. Migrate the BigFix server.
2. Migrate the License Metric Tool server.
3. Set the value of the LMT_Server_Path_[user_ID] parameter to the installation path of the License Metric Tool server.
   1. Log in to the BigFix console, and go to Computers.
   2. In the upper-right pane, right-click the computer on which you installed License Metric Tool, and click Edit Computer Settings.
   3. To add a setting, click Add.
   4. In the Setting Name, type LMT_Server_Path_[user_ID].
      Note: [user_ID] is the ID of the operating system user who installed License Metric Tool.
   5. In the Setting Value, specify the License Metric Tool installation path.
   6. Click OK.
