Basic VM management (local and central)
Basic VM management is the default and recommended method of configuring connections to VM managers through the License Metric Tool user interface. Data about the capacity of VM managers is needed to calculate consumption of license metrics in virtual environments. In basic VM management, the data is collected by the main instance of the VM Manager Tool.
Ensure that the computer on which the main instance of the VM Manager Tool is installed can connect to your VM managers. For more information, see: VM Manager Tool deployment types and flow of data. If some of the VM managers are in separated networks with no connection from the License Metric Tool server nor the BigFix® server, manage these VM managers through advanced VM management.
