Available from 9.2.5.
Results of the disconnected scans should
be imported to the License Metric Tool server daily. To import scan results, copy results packages from the
disconnected computers in your infrastructure to the disconnected data source. You can automate the
process of copying the results packages by using an automation technology of your
choice.
Before you begin
Important: It is your responsibility to ensure that scan
results from the disconnected computers are imported to the License Metric Tool server
daily. Otherwise, reports generated in License Metric Tool might not be accurate which might impact your license
compliance position. Ensuring that scan results are imported daily is not subject to IBM
Support.
Procedure
-
Go to the directory where you uploaded the disconnected scanner package. Verify whether the
package with scan results was generated in the following subdirectory after the software scan.
Names of results packages use the following naming convention.
-
<YYYYMMDDHHMM>-<endpoint_ID>.zip
-
<YYYYMMDDHHMM>-<endpoint_ID>.tar.gz
Important: Do not change names of results packages. Otherwise,
they will not be imported to License Metric Tool.
-
Copy the results package to the disconnected data source. You can do this in one of the
following ways.
-
To save disk space on the disconnected computer, remove the results package after you upload it
to the disconnected data source.
-
Wait for the scheduled import or run it manually.
Results
During the import of data, License Metric Tool checks the disconnected data source and imports results
packages that meet the requirements. Scan results are processed and displayed on the reports in the
user interface. Discovered software is reported with the import time, not the package time
stamp.
