If you already have License Metric Tool installed but you want to manage the collection of
software and capacity data from computers without the BigFix client, you can add Ansible to your existing
License Metric Tool infrastructure.
Procedure

Create a disconnected data source.
- Log in to License Metric Tool, and go to
.
- To add a data source, click New.
- From the Data Source Type list, select
Disconnected.
- Optional: Specify the name of the disconnected data source and the
location of the directory on the License Metric Tool server
where you upload results of disconnected scans.
- To create the data source, click Create.
- Install and configure Ansible.
- Install Ansible. For detailed instructions, see the Ansible documentation.
- Create an inventory of computers on which you want to manage software and hardware
discovery with Ansible. For detailed instructions, see the Ansible documentation.
- Use playbooks to install and configure the disconnected scanner, and upload disconnected
scan results to the License Metric Tool server. For more
