Use this checklist to verify that your License Metric Tool environment is successfully set up and the required data is collected so that the audit snapshots are reliable.

1. The scanner is installed on all computers from which you need to collect data.  
2. Software scans are running on all computers. No problems are reported on the Software Scan Health widget.
3. Capacity scans are running on all computers. No problems are reported on the Capacity Scan Health widget.
4. VM manager connections are defined for all VMs that require such connections and data is collected from these VMs. No problems are reported on the Capacity Scan Health widget.
5. All discovered software components are assigned to proper products and metrics. All assignments are confirmed on the Software Classification widget.

Note: Confirming assignments is optional. However, it ensures that components are not automatically reassigned to different products. Additionally, it facilitates your work by showing which assignments were already reviewed and which still require your attention.
6. Audit snapshots are generated quarterly and stored for two years for reference during potential audits.  
7. License Metric Tool components, especially the server, are regularly upgraded. The License Metric Tool server and other components are in the latest available version.
