Installing the SMP/E edition

Specific installation requirements, considerations, and instructions for the SMP/E edition of Open Enterprise SDK for Apache Kafka are documented in the Program Directory.

1. See Chapter 5 and 6 of the Program Directory to start SMP/E edition installation.

2. After installing the product, configure the file permissions and tags by running the following environment setup script:

   export KAFKA_HOME=<Product installation path>/ixy/v1r1m0/zkafka
   .$KAFKA_HOME/bin/.env

   This command will automatically set the file permissions and encoding tags for the USS files.

3. To verify if the installation is successful when you complete installation, follow the steps in Verifying the installation of Open Enterprise SDK for Apache Kafka.
