Overview

To see queried data or server information from your managed environment, the Dashboard Application Services Hub Server must have data providers. Data providers retrieve requested information from data sources. For example, the values in the health dashboard are transferred from the data source to the data provider and then sent to the browser for display in a dashboard.
The local Dashboard Application Services Hub Server has a common data transfer service and you can find other data transfer services on remote servers:
  • Some data providers running locally on the Dashboard Application Services Hub require no configuration information from you. Such providers have a static connection and are listed in the connection table.
  • Other data providers running locally on the Dashboard Application Services Hub require configuration information from you. Such providers have a local connection and are listed in the connection table. Use the connection manger to specify which management server the local data provider should connect to. This information is saved across work sessions.
  • For data providers running remotely, use the connection manager to create a connection. Remote providers are not shown in the connection table until they have been defined. Such providers have a remote connection. Remote provider definitions are saved across work sessions.
The connections table shows all the static, local, and remote data providers that have been started or defined for the Dashboard Application Services Hub and has tools for managing those connections.
