Configuring the Eclipse help server
You must configure the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client's Eclipse help server after installation is complete.
Before you begin
- Find out the port number for the Tivoli Enterprise Portal from the person who installed IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
- If you are using an IBM Tivoli Monitoring version 6.1 with Fix Pack 3 on UNIX® or Linux® systems, the Eclipse server cannot start when it is installed. To resolve this problem, upgrade to ITM V6.2 FP1 iFix 1.
Procedure
- Start Manage Tivoli® Monitoring Services:
- For Windows, click .
- For UNIX and Linux, run the following command:
./itmcmd manage
Note: The user interface might vary slightly, depending on the operating system. - Locate the Eclipse Help Server entry.

- To configure the Eclipse Help Server:
- Right-click the Eclipse Help Server entry.
- Select Configure Using Defaults from the pop-up menu.

- Enter the port number specified when installing IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
- Click OK.
- To set up the Eclipse help to automatically
start the whenever this node is restarted,
- Right-click the Eclipse Help Server entry.
- Select Change Startup from the pop-up menu to display the
Service Startup for Eclipse Help Server window.

- Select Automatic at Startup Type.
- Click OK.
