Use the Load Process to load data from an Extract or Archive
File.
To perform a Load Process:
- From the main menu, select option 7 MIGRATION and
press Enter. The Data Migration panel
opens.
- Select option 3 LOAD and press Enter. The LOAD Process panel opens.
- In the Extract File DSN field, enter
the Archive or Extract File name (enclosed in quotes) that contains
the data to load.
- In the Control File DSN field, enter
the name of the Control File (enclosed in quotes), which is a sequential
data set to contain information and statistics about the Load Process. If the data set has not been allocated, the Allocate
Dataset panel will open before the Load Process begins,
allowing you to allocate the data set.
- Select option 1 Table Map and press
Enter. The LOAD Process Table Map panel
opens.
- Edit the Table Map and enter the destination creator ID
in the Dest CID field.
Use the APPLY command
to select a Table Map.
Include Column Maps to define the specifications
for mapping columns of compatible data between source and destination
tables.
- Press F3 to return to the LOAD Process panel.
- Select option 2 PERFORM and press
Enter. Depending on the load utility in use, the Specify
LOAD Parameters and Execute or Specify LOADPLUS
Parameters and Execute panel opens.
- Specify options for the Load Process.
You
can choose to delete all rows in the table space and create a full
image copy. You can also choose to perform logging, enforce relational
integrity constraints, ensure that the statistical data is updated,
and assign template names to load files. Other options allow you to
age date values, sort tables that use a cluster index, and limit the
number of discarded rows.
- Press Enter. The Job Card and
Print Options panel opens.
- Specify options to generate the JCL and utility control
statements.
- Press Enter. Depending on the user options
selected, the job may be submitted either automatically or manually.
