Installing Z APM Connect Interceptor

You must first install Z APM Connect Interceptor in a directory in Unix System Services on z/OS®.

Software requirements

The Z APM Connect support for monitoring transactions from z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (z/OS Connect EE) into CICS and IMS requires the following maintenance to be installed:

z/OS Connect EE V3.0.27 APAR PH09950 (OpenAPI2) or z/OS Connect EE V3.0.74 APAR PH56974 (OpenAPI3)
Z APM Connect APAR OA63084 (PTF UJ08213) or later
Install fixpack 6.1.1-TIV-INSTANA-FP00007 on Linux. Installation steps can be found in Installing, configuring, and managing Z APM Connect Distributed Gateway.

Procedure

Perform normal SMP/E installation processes for installing PTFs, following all ++HOLD ACTIONS system actions.

The Interceptor part, AGMZCEEI, exists in the USS directory <SMPEInstallPath>/usr/lpp/IBM/agm. It is a tar file that needs to be decompressed, by a user ID with UID=0 or WRITE access to the directory. Use the following command to decompress the AGMZCEEI tar file:

tar -xovf AGMZCEEI

Results

Z APM Connect Interceptor code and prerequisites are installed.
