Server Credentials

This section provides information about credentials used with the Optim™ Server (Server) feature of Optim. The Server can be installed and run on a machine using supported versions of Windows®, AIX®, or Linux®; therefore, this appendix addresses credentials for all supported platforms.

Credentials uniquely identify a user, and include:

  • User ID
  • Password
  • Domain (for Windows only)

The following types of credentials are used with the Server:

  • Credentials needed to run the Server and to start Optim processes.
  • Credentials needed by the DBMS to access the Optim Directory and use the DB Alias.
