Overview
This tutorial provides an introduction to the functionality of the IBM® InfoSphere® Optim™ Data Growth Solution and the IBM InfoSphere Optim Application Retirement Solution by walking you through a sample scenario in which you archive, browse, delete, and restore data. It is intended for use by database administrators and others interested in managing database growth.
Archive data
You can easily obtain a referentially intact set of data from a production database and copy the data to an archive file.
Browse Data
Using the Browse Utility, you can quickly and easily review data stored in an Archive File.
Delete Data
Using the Delete Process, you can delete a subset of related data from a database.
Restore Data
Using the Restore Process, you can easily locate one or more Archive Files that contain data you want to restore and restore the data to the original or a new database, even if the data model has changed.
