Configuring a data source to import geocoding data
Configure a data source that imports data from a CSV file that contains address information that the system can use to import latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates from a geocoding provider.
Before you begin
Procedure
- Create a data source that has a data source definition type of From my own source with my own property mapping.
- For the acquisition method, select Upload an address CSV file.
- For the connection information, browse to the location of the CSV file that you want to upload. The CSV file that you select is copied to the appropriate directory on the server. In a multi-server environment, the CSV file is copied to the appropriate directory on the application server.
- On the Minimal Properties tab, configure the Address field with the name of the property that you want to use as the address. You can also add extra address fields, and you can specify a default state and city that are used if either a state or a city is not provided in an entry in the CSV file.
- Optional: Configure the settings on the Security, Routing, and Appearance tabs according to your requirements.
- Use the filter configuration tool to add your data source to a pane in the filter so that you can view data items from the data source in the Operations view.
