Localizing the user interface

To change the locale and time zone that are displayed in the user interface, edit your user profile. If you do not specify a time zone in your user profile, the time zone defaults to GMT.

The locale setting determines the display language of the text. If the selected language is unavailable, the closest related language is used. For example, if French Canadian is unavailable, French is used, if available. If no closely related language is available, the text will be displayed in English.

All dates and times are displayed according to your time zone setting in the format that is specified in your user profile. If you are an administrator, you can customize the date and time formats.

Calendar settings

You can select a calendar type so that national calendars, such as Hebrew, are used when you select a date. For example, you can select the start date in the Filter window with a Hebrew calendar type. The calendar type determines how dates are displayed, for example, the start date and time values that are displayed in the list, on preview cards, and so on.

You can also determine the language that is used when dates and times are displayed. For example, you can select a Hebrew calendar with a preferred language of English that displays 27 March 2015 as 7 Nisan 5775. Or, for the same date, if the preferred language is Hebrew, the date will be displayed as ז׳ ℶְּנִיסָן תשע״ה.
