Configuring access to filter panes
Define which groups can access dynamic filter panes.
Before you begin
As a platform administrator, configure the user groups in the User Management view. For more information, see Creating user groups.
About this task
For a dynamic filter pane, assign the required access level to each group. Groups with read-only access can view the filter pane in the Filter window in the Operations view. Groups with read and write access can view the filter pane in the Filter window, and can also use the filter configuration tool to add, remove, and arrange the data sources included on this pane.
The default access level for dynamic filter panes is read and write access for administrators, and no access for all other groups.
You cannot assign access levels to the predefined panes that define the date, time, and location of filtered data.
If you assign a group read access to a filter pane, users in the group can access the filter pane only if the group has page-level access to the Operations view. Similarly, if you assign a group write access to a filter pane, users in the group can access the filter configuration tool only if the group has page-level access to the tool. For more information about page access, see the related link.
Procedure
- In the navigation menu, click to open the filter configuration tool.
- Select a dynamic filter pane and click the Permissions tab.
- For each group, select the access level from the Access Level list, and save your settings.
