Modifying users
As a platform administrator, edit the user details and group membership for a user.
Before you begin
- To manage users, user groups, and roles in the User Management view, your system must be configured to work with a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) user registry. For more information, see Configuring an LDAP user registry.
- To create and modify users, all the user attributes must be mapped to fields in your LDAP user registry. For more information, see Mapping user attributes to fields in LDAP.
- You can edit the UserManagementUidCharacterValidation system property to configure extra validation to apply to user IDs. For more information, see Configuring extra validation for user IDs.
- By default, a user can be saved with no assigned user groups. To change this default configuration so that a user cannot be saved without at least one assigned user group, edit the UserManagementAllowUsersWithoutUserGroup system property. For more information, see Configuring the assigned groups system property.
