Configuring the solution

Use the configuration tools to configure the solution.

In the navigation menu, click Administration > Configuration Tools, and then choose the configuration tool that you require.

Configuring a data source
Use the data sources tool to configure a data source that supplies data to IBM® Intelligent Operations Center.
Configuring a data source association
An administrator can associate one data source with another data source. For example, you might want to associate a data source that is used to monitor events with a data source that is used to initiate work orders.
Configuring the filter
In the data sources configuration tool, you can decide how you want to group data sources. Then, for each group, you can configure a pane that is displayed in the Filter window. The data sources that you select are listed in the pane.
Configuring geospatial maps
In the geospatial maps configuration tool, you can configure the maps that are available to the user, the initial map center point, and the map zoom level.
Configuring KPIs
Key performance indicators (KPIs) supply statistical data that you can use to analyze trends, or to indicate problem areas. Use the KPI definition and hierarchy tools to create KPIs, to define the calculation of KPI values, and to create goals by arranging your KPIs into hierarchies. The configuration that you do in the KPI tools determines what is displayed on the KPI dashboard.
Configuring location maps
A location map in IBM Intelligent Operations Center is a map, diagram, or plan with predefined areas for interaction, for example, seating areas in a major sports stadium. And you can configure data sources so that data items are displayed on relevant areas of location maps.
Configuring standard operating procedures
A standard operating procedure is a set of instructions that describes all the relevant steps and activities of a process or procedure. Standard operating procedures are essential to an organization to deliver consistent, measured, high-quality responses to complex and unpredictable events.
Configuring incident analytics
Before you analyze data for incidents such as crime or traffic accidents, create data sources and configure the application.
Configuring a web file server
Install and configure a web file server for serving files to some components. For example, configure a web file server for serving KML files, or notification templates. You can configure a web file server for the IBM Intelligent Operations Center development edition on Windows and Linux.
